Remember we have to tell steam where our library folders are. Originally posted by Jack Schitt:Try downloading and installing the game to the internal drive then cut/pasting the game folder to the external drive.

I believer something is wrong with Steam, either that or I cannot install Steam onto an external hard drive, no matter what solutions I try. So when there wasnt, i tried to re-install Steam and it did the “installing update> downloading update” and finished in about 20 mins, but then it did the “extracting package” thing and for some reason, that was almost an hour long and it didnt even finish because it was taking too long and it’s never done that before, so I had to exit out that window then check the external hard drive again to make sure everything was fine, but then it said there were errors on the drive. I then went to the file explorer> D drive> properties > security then tried to check and make sure everything was fine and there was no errors. The result for the quick test came back fine, then I ran the extended test, which was nearly two days long because the external hard drive is 2TB, and the result for that came back fine as well.

I have not, i actually saw this article (i think it was on here i dont remember) but someone said to download Data Lifeguard for Windows, so I decided to do a quick test to make sure that the drive wasnt broken or whatever. The Apex Legends folder is empty so there's no duplicates or anything in general for me to delete. I tried running steam as administer, tried restarting my computer, tried clearing download cache in steam, tried verifying integrity files (i think that's what it's called,) tried looking for these duplicate files with 0kb in the steamapp folder (that these online articles keep talking about,) but my Apex Legends folder in my steam folder has nothing in it. I was FINALLY able to install Steam onto the external hard drive as well as league of legends (after going through 4 days of complications with downloading games onto the external hard drive because for some reason none of the games I wanted on the external hard drive would download on it.) So, after my friend helped me fix my external hard drive, which was basically just to format it again, I was able to download Steam on it, but I'm trying to download apex on it, but it stops at 9.6 GB and says "disk write error." I tried to move the steam and riot games folder onto my desktop then re-format my external hard drive, but no progress.
So about 2 months ago, I got a 2TB external hard drive and I only wanted to use it for games so that I had more space on my internal hard drive.
